This is a list of motors and years that these tools fit, BUT like all rules there are exceptions, notably the 25 hp motors, there are 25 hp motors that used 2 different crank shaft taper sizes, which means it will be either the #1 or #4 timing tool. Ask if you are not sure and we will get you the right tool.

ONE NOTE about the 3d printed tools... DO NOT lift the tool from the crank shaft using the ends of the timing tool, YOU WILL BREAK IT!!.... Gently using a screwdriver placed under the center hub, lift it up, It will come right off without breaking...In the event you need to use the flywheel nut to hold the tool on the crank with the flywheel nut, Do not tighten the nut past finger tight..

 

Timing Tools are $40 each plus shipping. I will combine shipping whenever possible.

TIMING FIXTURE TOOL INSTRUCTIONS

 

#1 Timing tool is a reproduction of the following OEM tool:  304667(old) or 383602 and is the 5 hp thru 20 hp  (including the 22 cubic inch 25 hp)

  • 1951-1976 5, 5.5 and 6 hp motors
  • 1951-1958 7.5 hp motors
  • 1964-1973 9.5 hp motors
  • 1951-1963 10 hp motors
  • 1951 and up 12 hp Gale motors
  • 1951 14 hp motor
  • 1951-1972 15, 18, 20, 25 hp motors
  • 1973-1976 18, 20, 25 hp motors

#2 Timing tool is a reproduction of the following OEM tool: 304666, (old), 383603 and is for the 3 hp and 4 hp

  • 1952-1976 3 and 4 hp motors
  • 1981-1986 4 hp motors

#3 Timing tool is a reproduction of the following OEM tool:  309889 (old), 386636 and is for  the 9.9 hp and 15 hp 1974-1976 only

#4 Timing tool is a reproduction of the following OEM tool: 308018 (old), 383601 and is for the 22hp thru 40 hp thru 1961 with small crank shaft (including Gale 25 hp thru 1963)

  • 1951-1961 22, 25, 30, 35, 40 hp motors
  • ALL YEARS 22-25 hp Gale motors

#5 Timing tool is a reproduction of the following OEM tool:  309173 (old), 378966 and is for the 28 hp thru 40 hp 1962 and up

  • 1962-1973 28,33,40 ho motors
  • --- For the OMC "Low Tension Magneto"----

 

#6 Timing tool is a reproduction of the following OEM tool:  319888 (old), 386635 and is for  the 35 hp 1976 and 40 hp 1974 thru 1976
